Notes on Origin of Flight

Origin of Flight was recorded in 2003 and released in 2004 in Phoenix, AZ. I did this entire album on my own with the engineering and studio help of Anthony Kinchion at Choice Productions.

Many guest musicians appear on this album, and songs date from back to just post-Sub Culture (i.e. Muriel Sweetsong, Out Here, Desert, circa 1990-91) through my time in Nashville (5 Revolving Doors, Mr. Brooks, circa 1992-95), Boulder (In Between Towns, circa 1996-98) and California (Sweet, This Time, circa 1999-2000) to Phoenix (Dragon, No More Why, circa 2001-02) and middle of recording the album (i.e. Sea of Cortez, circa 2003).

This is considered my debut solo album, and I am glad I did it. I had been wanting to record many songs over the years, but never seemed to find the time and means to just do it. The production situation may not have been ideal enough for many industry-types, but I think the songs shine through.

5 Revolving Doors received Honorable Mention in the 13th Annual Billboard Song Contest, and Muriel Sweetsong was featured in February 2009 Cinemasounds (played in theatres across the country). Origin of Flight was later signed to Rescue Records for music licensing.

I'd like to point out again the folks that made Origin of Flight fly: Anthony Kinchion, my sister Tammy and her singin' gals: DeeDee Becca and Shanna, Rayn and Rayn Dance Theatre, Robert Lang, Andrew Bailey, Seven Oceans, Lynn Neakrase, the spirit of Sage, and those around me during the recording process, and at the time of release. What a great experience!
